The beautiful town of Berwick lies in the centre of the
famed Annapolis Valley, nestled between the North and South
Mountains. Because of its favoured geography, Berwick is at the heart
of the province's apple industry, in fact, the town is known as Nova
Scotia's Apple Capital.
The hundreds of acres of orchards which
surround the town on the Valley floor and on the gentle mountain
slopes make a perfect setting for this gem of a town. Even the tempo
of life in Berwick is governed by the fragrant orchards in spring
and the bountiful harvest in fall.
Berwick's clean air, benevolent climate, ideal location and friendly
small-town atmosphere all combine to make for a perfect place to
shop, visit or better still, to live.
The town, dating from the
1800's, is very well planned; at its centre is the commercial/retail
area, encompassed by streets with large older homes and then by
attractive subdivisions. At the perimeter are the town's industries
-- food processing plants serving the Valley's farms. Berwick exudes
an invitingly cozy atmosphere that beckons one to come and enjoy
life.
